Getting Unstuck | Real Life Lessons

I’ve had this new project idea I’ve been bouncing around for about a year. It started as many other of my ideas start – there was great enthusiasm, energy, excitement and I did a lot of planning, domain-name buying, talking about it, getting ready to make it BIG. But then, I got caught. up. in. the details. I got stuck. I was trying really hard to push through and really think through a beautiful, elegant solution, but I kept getting stuck. There was a vision that I had and this product needed to perfectly fit my vision. But it wasn’t perfectly fitting, so I put it to the side. On the back-burner, maybe to never be heard from again. And, occasionally, I forgot it. I’d totally forget it. But then, when I was least expecting it, the idea would pop back into my head and demand attention. I’d let it bounce around for awhile, maybe chat about it with a friend, but, ultimately, I’d set it back on the timeout chair in the corner of the room.   This weekend, we had a friend to dinner, and my husband mentioned the idea again, which surprised me. I figured if I wasn’t thinking about this idea, surely he wasn’t thinking about this idea. But it got things moving for me and I realized that there is a reason this idea won’t stay down, there’s a reason why it came to me in the first place.
